What Is NYSC Senate List?

NYSC senate list is an approved list of graduates by the Senate of Corps producing Institutions (CPIs) to take part in the one-year mandatory National Youth Service Corps Program.

Anyone whose name is not found on the NYSC Senate list will not be eligible to register for NYSC program.

Is NYSC Compulsory In Nigeria?

Yes, National Youth Service Corps, NYSC is compulsory for all graduates in Nigeria.

NYSC is compulsory in the sense that the graduates of the country can’t request an exemption unless they are disabled, had served in the military or paramilitary for more than one year or are older than 30 when they graduated.

About NYSC

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) is a program set up by the Nigerian government during the military regime to involve Nigerian graduates in nation-building and the development of the country.

There is no military conscription in Nigeria, but since 1973 graduates of universities and later polytechnics have been required to take part in the National Youth Service Corps program for one year.

This is known as national service year. Ahmadu Ali served as the first Director-General of the NYSC until 1975.

The incumbent Director-General is Mohammed Kaku Fadah.

    Please is it compulsory I register for Nysc once my school releases Nysc senate list, like can I register like a month or two after?

    And hope it won’t delay my mobilisation? Please

    • Once your school releases your name among senate list you don’t need to wait just go to cyber cafe and start your nysc registration immediately

  2. Why is my nysc Senate list portal saying that I have not been matriculated, that I should contact my institution after I have done jamb regularization and submitted my jamb admission letter .

    • contact your school for your name to be uploaded.

    • University of calabar name seems to appear among schools who’s senate list have been pasted on NYSC portal but on checking our names to enable us start our registration, they keep telling us the same message we should verify from our school. Please I want to k ow if registration has actually started, and if it has, had any school student been able to register. Please let us know so we k ow our fate. Thanks

    Please i need a help here, i graduated since 2010, my name is also out in Jamb and senate list, but my status is telling me i can’t register that the name on Jamb is different from the senate list, i now realized instead of madubuike chinaecherem victor the senate list omitted victor and upload Madubuike chinaecherem, i have gone to students affair dean, he gave me form to fill and also mobilize me, they told me that the name will reflect if 2022 batch b senate list is uploaded, i have been checking still the name has not reflect, my question is can i still go on and register.
